In addition to African heads of state, business leaders are also converging in the Chinese capital. CGTN correspondent Cen Ziyuan provides insights into the Eighth Conference of Chinese and African Entrepreneurs.
This conference is a key event in this year’s Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, drawing significant participation from both regions. A total of 382 Chinese business representatives and 408 African business executives have registered to attend.
ZHANG SHAOGANG, Vice Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, stated, “Chinese and African entrepreneurs will leverage this platform to enhance exchanges and cooperation, explore opportunities in trade, investment, and industrial collaboration, and share the benefits of China-Africa economic and trade cooperation.”
CEN ZIYUAN, reporting from Beijing, highlighted that China has been Africa’s largest trading partner, while Africa stands as China’s second-largest market for overseas contracting projects. The entrepreneurs’ conference serves as a crucial opportunity for the Chinese and African business communities to connect and finalize more business deals.
LIN HONGHONG, Director General of the Department of International Relations at CCPIT, emphasized the goal of achieving more tangible outcomes for both Chinese and African people, as well as those beyond these two regions.
The theme of this year’s summit, “Joining Hands to Advance Modernization and Build a High-Level China-Africa Community with a Shared Future,” underscores the mutual ambition of China and Africa to progress along the path of modernization. Officials noted that companies from traditional sectors like infrastructure, finance, and trade are participating, alongside those from emerging industries such as electronic technology, communication satellites, and biomedicine, reflecting the forward-looking aspirations of both regions.
