MTN CHAMPS is a program in Nigeria that aims to unearth and foster athletic talent across the country. It is modeled after the Jamaican High school CHAMPS and is poised to become the primary platform for identifying and nurturing promising athletes who could go on to represent Nigeria in prestigious international competitions such as the Olympics and World Championships.
With a focus on discovering and developing athletic potential, MTN CHAMPS has the potential to transform the sporting landscape in Nigeria. Through this program, talented individuals from all corners of the country will have the opportunity to showcase their skills and receive the training and support they need to reach their full potential as world-class athletes.
Requirements
To be considered for the MTN Champ Competition:
- Be a Nigerian
- Be aged 14 and above
- Register before the commencement of the competition
Duration and Reward
Through this program, talented individuals from all corners of the country will have the opportunity to
- showcase their skills and
- receive the training and support they need to reach their full potential as world-class athletes.
- Selected athletes will be sponsored on fully funded study scholarships
- MTN CHAMPS will consist of four 3-day Championships nationwide, held in Jos, Plateau state on 16th April 2024, with 1 day added to the final event for the Grand Final.
How To Apply for the MTN Champs Competition

- Click on Register
- Fill the registration form and submit appropriately
- To enter, a recognized official of your School or Team, e.g. Principal, Games Master, PE Teacher, Athletics Coach or Captain must register your ‘10+10’ Entries at MTNCHAMPS.COM,
- You may promote your participation by posting the most fun and creative videos on social media of your School/Team training or trying out for MTN CHAMPS, at inter-house or inter-school sports, in practice or at any other competitions, along with the hashtag for your city (e.g. #MTNCHAMPSIbadan, etc)!
