Do you work as a photojournalist? Does your engaged photographic work address issues related to the environment, human-earth relationships, or major sustainable development challenges? Do you write and speak in French or English?
The Yves Rocher Foundation Photo Prize is granted to a professional photographer seeking to create journalistic work focusing on environmental issues, the connection between humanity and the Earth, and the significant challenges of sustainable development.
Prize:
- An opportunity to receive a grant of €8,000.
- Exhibition of your work at the Festival Photo La Gacilly.
- Screening of your work at the International Festival of Photojournalism “VISA POUR L’IMAGE – Perpignan”.
Eligibility:
- Applicants must work as photojournalists.
- Proficiency in French or English is required for both writing and speaking.
Selection Criteria:
The submitted photographs must adhere to the following criteria:
- Only JPEG format is accepted (TIFF and EPS formats are not permitted).
- IPTC fields, including captions and copyright information, must be completed, along with a PDF file containing the captions.
- Maximum file size per image: 3 MB.
- Image files should be named and numbered according to the desired order for jury projection.
Note: Applications failing to meet the specified technical criteria will be disqualified.
To maintain file anonymity, the applicant’s identity should not be visible in the images.
Application Process:
Submit an application via the WIIN platform, including:
- Curriculum vitae.
- Cover letter from the applicant detailing their photo essay project (maximum 1 page), without revealing the applicant’s identity.
- Provisional budget for the photo essay project funding.
Note: If additional funding is secured from other partners, their names must be provided for approval by the Yves Rocher Foundation, which reserves the right to exclude them from mention. - A photo essay consisting of 12 to 20 images in black and white or color (as per accepted format).
- Scans of publications, if applicable.
- Copy of the photographer’s identification document.
- Sworn statement confirming the applicant’s status as a photojournalist.
