Women Photograph is excited to announce our2024 project grants for women & nonbinary photographers.These grants are intended to support photography projects, whether they’re new ventures or ongoing endeavors, carried out by visual journalists focusing on documentary work. Five grants are available, with at least one reserved for a nonbinary or transgender photographer.
The funding can be utilized to cover the essential costs of reporting, creative fees for photographers, and any other expenses necessary to facilitate the production of new photographic work. It’s important to note that these grants are not intended for supporting the creation of books, exhibitions, workshops, or other supplementary materials.
Grant Details:
- Grants of up to $5,000 are available.
Eligibility Criteria:
- The grants are open to women, nonbinary, transgender, and intersex documentary photographers of any nationality. Women Photograph aims to foster inclusivity and support work from photographers representing diverse identities, geographic locations, and life experiences. Membership in Women Photograph is not required to apply.
- There is no application fee.
- Only one submission per open call is allowed.
- Applications must be submitted in English, but translations using services like Google Translate are accepted.
- There are no restrictions on the type of camera equipment used for either grant.
Application Process:
Applicants are encouraged to submit a cohesive story, rather than individual images, as part of the grant application. The images provided do not necessarily need to be directly related to the proposed project, but applicants should specify if they are unrelated in their application.
