An intensive capacity development program supporting agripreneurs (SMEs) in the agribusiness landscape to be aware of how their businesses are affected by climate change and to enable them develop strategies to adapt and mitigate the impact of climate change through climate-smart practices adoption and tapping into the climate financing opportunities. BRACE leverages a hybrid learning experience to engage agripreneurs through training, peer learning, interactive sessions, and practical applications.
Through the BRACE program, we empower African agricultural entrepreneurs for sustainable growth and enhanced climate resilience. Our mission extends beyond skill-building to providing exposure to diverse opportunities within the agricultural ecosystem. We aspire to foster resilience in entrepreneurs, enabling them to contribute to sustainable practices and the long-term growth of the agricultural landscape across Africa. Through BRACE, we envision a future where agricultural entrepreneurs thrive, adapting to climate challenges and driving positive change in the industry.
Eligibility Criteria
18 – 40 years
Registered and operating agribusiness
A citizen of an African country
AgriSMEs owner /representative/decision-maker operating in Crop Production, and/or Animal Production Sector as either Producer, Processor, Marketer, Aggregators, etc
Program Components / Benefits
Deployment of a diagnostic tool to assess participants level of awareness regarding the impact of climate change on their agribusinesses, familiarity with, and readiness to deploy, existing local solutions in the landscape
A self-paced six (6) week online learning program with relevant and practical climate curriculum
Access to industry experts, trainers and agripreneurs via live interactive and mentoring sessions.
Opportunity to join the AFC hub community for additional resources, data, funding support and market linkages to enhance business visibility, profitability, growth, and success.
Hands-on practical assignments that cumulatively result in the ‘greening’ of participants’ agribusinesses to better position them to leverage climate financing opportunities in the ecosystem
Engagement in peer-to-peer learning, networking, experience sharing, group discussions, assignments, and co-creation of solutions.
Provision of information, resources, and tools to enable investments and decisions that lead to sustainable climate solutions.
