Dufil Prima Foods has expanded its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives by supporting visually impaired students at Aperin Oniyere Grammar School in Ibadan, Oyo State, through the donation of assistive devices aimed at enhancing their learning experience. This initiative underscores the company’s dedication to providing inclusive opportunities for students with special needs.
During the event, Temitope Ashiwaju, Group Corporate Communications and Event Manager, presented the assistive tools—including Braille machines, typewriters, digital recorders, and mobility canes—to the school’s principal, Olusegun Oregbesan. The occasion was attended by Olufemi Ojeniyi, Chairman of the Nigeria Association of the Blind (Oyo Chapter), alongside the school’s vice principal and other staff members.
In addition to the devices, Dufil Prima Foods pledged to cover the WAEC examination fees for the school’s SS3 students, ensuring financial constraints do not impede their educational progress. Ashiwaju, speaking about the initiative, emphasized the difficulties visually impaired students face in accessing quality education.
“We recognize the unique challenges these students encounter, such as a lack of resources and the need for specialized tools. That’s why we’ve chosen to extend our support,” Ashiwaju stated. He also highlighted that this initiative is part of the company’s broader CSR activities, which have previously included assistance for the Pacelli School of the Blind and participation in the annual World Cane Day celebration.
“Our CSR strategy operates on two fronts: providing scholarships and equipping schools with necessary tools to foster an inclusive learning environment. As a socially responsible organization, we understand that government efforts alone cannot meet all needs, so we step in to contribute wherever we can,” Ashiwaju added.
Principal Oregbesan expressed his deep appreciation for the company’s support. “Your generosity inspires us to continue working tirelessly for our students. We are sincerely grateful for your thoughtful contributions,” he remarked.
Similarly, Olufemi Ojeniyi commended the initiative, noting the significant positive impact the donations will have on the students. “We extend our gratitude to Indomie for remembering people living with disabilities, particularly during these challenging economic times. Your support brings much-needed hope,” he said.
After the presentation, Dufil Prima Foods made the day even more special by serving freshly prepared noodles from its Indomie mobile kitchen, delighting the school and the surrounding community and leaving a lasting impression on both the students and staff.
