The Nigerian Bottling Company (NBC) has reinforced its dedication to promoting female entrepreneurship by partnering with Women in Management, Business, and Public Service (WIMBIZ) to empower women-led enterprises. As part of this initiative, NBC awarded a N1 million grant to Achiv Ngusurun, a pastry chef and entrepreneur celebrated for her innovative business ideas, at the 23rd Annual WIMBIZ Conference held in Lagos.
Ngusurun distinguished herself during a competitive pitch session and was recognized for her potential to drive economic growth through her pastry business. Expressing her gratitude, she acknowledged the instrumental support of NBC and WIMBIZ in championing female entrepreneurship. “This grant will accelerate the growth of my business and strengthen my entrepreneurial journey,” she stated.
Jolomi Fawehinmi, NBC’s Director of People and Culture, highlighted the company’s unwavering commitment to promoting economic inclusion for women. “It is deeply fulfilling and purposeful for us to present this grant to such an outstanding entrepreneur,” Fawehinmi said, emphasizing NBC’s view that supporting women’s success is not merely a choice but a “responsibility.” He further remarked, “When women succeed, they uplift families, communities, and entire nations.”
The partnership between NBC and WIMBIZ extends far beyond financial grants, offering a platform for valuable networking and professional development for NBC’s female delegates and other young professionals. Participants had the opportunity to engage with industry leaders, expand their networks, and gain insights to advance their careers.
WIMBIZ reaffirmed its commitment to fostering career growth and collaboration among women in Nigeria, creating a vibrant platform where both emerging and established female leaders can connect, learn, and thrive.
