The Abuja Enterprise Agency (AEA) has launched its third Financial Literacy and Inclusion Awareness Campaign, aimed at equipping Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and individuals with vital financial skills to boost business success and ensure financial stability.
This 3-day event, which includes visits to markets throughout the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), is focused on addressing financial knowledge gaps and empowering entrepreneurs with the tools they need to make informed business decisions. Small and medium business owners are actively engaging in the campaign to enhance their financial management capabilities.
Chudi Ugwuada-Ezirigwe, the Managing Director and CEO of AEA, emphasized the campaign’s achievements since its inception. Over 150,000 households within the FCT have been sensitized on financial literacy, and 38,127 MSMEs have benefited from business and financial education. Additionally, approximately 30,000 MSMEs have gained access to grants and loan facilities through government and private sector interventions.
The campaign employs various outreach methods, such as electronic media, social media platforms, roadshows, seminars, and market visits, involving strategic partners and stakeholders from the six area councils of the FCT.
Looking forward, Ugwuada-Ezirigwe announced plans to introduce the Abuja Business School of Entrepreneurship (ABSE), which will offer specialized programs designed to address the changing needs of the global entrepreneurial environment, thereby providing further support for business growth in the region.
This initiative is part of AEA’s ongoing efforts to empower MSMEs, promote financial inclusion, and drive economic development across the FCT.
