In its ongoing dedication to empowering young individuals through various entrepreneurial initiatives, Access Bank has recognized over 100 members of the 2024 batch A, stream one and two corps members across Nigeria with cash grants. A total of N30.5 million was distributed to corps members with winning entrepreneurial concepts in several states including Abuja, Imo, Kebbi, Abia, Adamawa, Jos, Delta, Akwa Ibom, Ogun, and Cross River. The top winners received N1 million each.
This initiative underscores the bank’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurship skills among youths through its Accessprenuer scheme. Bayo Famoroti, branch manager of Access Bank, Wusezone 4, highlighted during the Accessprenuer program in Abuja that the bank’s objective is to nurture youths and contribute to economic growth by addressing funding challenges faced by startups.
Famoroti emphasized, “As an institution, we recognize the pivotal role young people play in society, and we are dedicated to supporting their aspirations. Research indicates that lack of financing is a major reason why businesses, especially startups, fail. Therefore, we have taken steps to address this issue by providing financial support to young entrepreneurs to actualize their business ideas through the Access Bank All for One scheme.”
Tosin Ojo, a crocheter at the Abuja camp who emerged as the winner of the competition receiving N1 million and also clinched the social media contest with a prize of N50 thousand, expressed heartfelt appreciation to Access Bank for their support.
