The Association of Nigerian Women Business Network (ANWBN) has launched the Women Economic Empowerment for Widows, Women Entrepreneurs, and Vulnerable Women (WEE 4 3WS) initiative, aimed at promoting financial independence and sustainable development for women across Nigeria.
During the launch event held at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry Hall in Alausa, Ikeja, ANWBN National Coordinator, Otunba Gbemisola Oduntan, described the program as a groundbreaking initiative designed to address economic disparities and create opportunities for women. “This initiative is focused on empowering women to take on roles as leaders, innovators, and collaborators in building a more inclusive future,” she remarked.
Oduntan emphasized the program’s commitment to providing vital resources, enhancing market access, and delivering financial tools to enable women’s success. She encouraged participants to embrace self-reliance, refrain from complaining, and actively strive for growth. Additionally, she called on banks to offer financial support for impactful ventures.
In a virtual keynote address, Dr. Funke Bolujoko, Founder of Master Tea, motivated women to view setbacks as stepping stones to success. She highlighted the importance of resilience, building strategic partnerships, and maintaining ethical business practices, using Chief Rasak Akanni Okoya’s entrepreneurial journey as an inspiring example of determination and ambition.
The event also featured a panel discussion on “Sustainable Growth for Women-led Businesses.” Mrs. Toki Mabogunje, a lawyer, advised women to focus on achieving excellence, improving financial literacy, and seeking professional guidance. She stressed the need for proactive efforts, encouraging participants to pursue entrepreneurship training and expand their knowledge base.
Through its WEE 4 3WS initiative, ANWBN continues to demonstrate its dedication to empowering women and driving economic transformation across Nigeria.
