The Bauchi State Commissioner for Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises, Hon. Sadiq Hamisu Shira, has initiated the reconstitution of the board and management of the Agency for Sustainable Microfinance, marking a significant advancement in the ministry’s endeavors to support SMEs and strengthen microfinance institutions in the region.
Commissioner Shira emphasized the vital role played by the Bauchi State Agency for Sustainable Microfinance as a crucial intermediary between the government, financial institutions, and entrepreneurial ventures that propel the economy forward. The agency’s primary goal of providing accessible credit, business development services, and policy backing aims to unlock the vast potential of SMEs and facilitate their growth.
He highlighted the firm commitment of the Bauchi State government, led by Governor Sen. Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, to foster a conducive environment for SMEs and microfinance institutions. Governor Mohammed acknowledges the significant contribution of these sectors to economic progress, employment generation, and poverty alleviation across communities in the state.
