Entrepreneurs in Borno State taking part in the 6th Expanded National MSME Clinics and Fashion Hub will each receive an unconditional grant of N300,000 to aid in the growth and expansion of their businesses.
Vice President Kashim Shettima made this announcement during the event’s inauguration at the Government House in Maiduguri, stating that all outstanding MSMEs exhibiting at the clinic would qualify for the grant. “On behalf of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, I am delighted to declare an unconditional grant of N300,000 for each outstanding MSME,” he stated.
Shettima reiterated that the Borno MSME Clinic is a vital component of a broader nationwide initiative aimed at strengthening small businesses. He emphasized that these grants are non-repayable, underscoring the Federal Government’s unwavering commitment to fostering MSME development and sustainability.
In addition, the Vice President highlighted the launch of the newly established Borno State Fashion Hub, which is projected to generate up to 48,000 jobs annually. He described it as one of the most significant government-backed fashion hubs, strategically designed to enhance the state’s fashion manufacturing sector and stimulate economic growth.
Governor Babagana Zulum reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to supporting small businesses through an inclusive approach, acknowledging the numerous challenges MSMEs in Borno have encountered due to prolonged insurgency and economic hardships. He assured that the MSME Clinic would serve as a catalyst for revitalizing business activities, generating employment opportunities, and boosting income prospects for the state’s residents.
