The WIA Young Leaders program aims to support and showcase young African women leaders who are poised to make significant contributions to the African revolution. Women In Africa (WIA) Philanthropy is excited to announce the launch of the 4th edition of the WIA Young Leaders program, in collaboration with Dior, the French investment bank Lazard in France, the Audit and Consulting firm KPMG, and the global energy company TotalEnergies.
Selection Criteria
The primary selection criteria include:
- Women aged between 25 and 40 years old (with some flexibility based on experience)
- Born in an African country or having parents born in Africa
- Active involvement in the continent’s development and a commitment to social causes
- Demonstrated leadership qualities such as humility, empathy, and resilience
- Preference for candidates with a “self-made” background
- Vision for the future of Africa
- Willingness to integrate business practices, social impact, and public/private dialogue
- Capacity to assume high-level responsibilities
- Strong persuasion skills and a penchant for teamwork
- Fluency in French, English, or ideally both languages
The selection process will comprise two phases:
- Initial selection based on submitted applications: 12 pre-finalists
- Interview with the jury: 10 selected leaders
