Aspire Coronation Trust (ACT) Foundation is a grant making organization established in 2016 to support local, national and regional non – profit organizations working to address challenges and associated vulnerabilities across the African Continent.
ACT Foundation seeks to promote broad-based participation and partnership with other institutions and/or donor organizations aimed at building sustainable communities that provide innovative solutions to social, economic, and environmental challenges. They provide organizations with grants to ensure sustainable action in areas that align with our priority focus areas. We also guide our implementing partners through every step of the grant process so that they are not isolated.
Successful applicants will be invited to submit a full proposal with a detailed budget for the grants. After a rigorous review by independent consultants, and upon final selection of the proposals, organizations will be formally notified of the next steps. Successful organizations from the proposal stage will be notified and invited for Interviews and physical visits if selected for grant award.
Funding Areas
The focus areas include:
- Health: Malaria, cancer (breast, cervical, and prostate), maternal and child health
- Entrepreneurship: Vocational education, skills acquisition, financial literacy, and inclusion
- Environment: Waste management, water, and sanitation
- Leadership: Youth leadership development, thought leadership
Only projects within the four focus areas will be considered.
Eligibility
- Organizations applying for ACT grant must meet the following criteria:
- Work within the ACT Foundation’s focus areas of Health, Entrepreneurship, Leadership, and Environment.
- Be registered with the appropriate legal entity within their respective (African) countries for not less than two years (24 months).
- Be legally registered as a non-profit organization (GTE/LTD). However, if applying as a social enterprise, the Foundation will only fund initiatives that are not for profit.
- Show a strong governance structure. Details of the board of directors should reflect in the company’s registration documents. If not, please update.
- Show evidence of other sources of funding.
- Have a minimum staff strength of 3 part-time/full-time paid Individuals.
- Be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the project, i.e. not acting as an intermediary.
- Program/Initiative must be implemented within Africa;
The following are ineligible:
- Individuals
- Organizations with a history of mismanaged funds
- Political entities or affiliates
- Organizations advocating illegal activities or terrorism
