Are you a young changemaker passionate about sustainability and innovation? Applications are open for the Mediterranean Youth Water Hackathon 2025. For the Mediterranean Youth Water Hackathon, they are inviting young innovators aged 18 to 35 to collaborate and create game-changing solutions addressing the challenges and opportunities within the Water, Energy, Food, and Ecosystems (WEFE) Nexus.
Join them on February 25-28, 2025, in Fes, Morocco, for a three-day event dedicated to creating sustainable solutions with lasting social and environmental impacts.
Benefits
- Real-world impact: Design solutions for urgent water, energy, food, and ecosystem issues. The three most promising solutions will be selected on the final day and will receive technical and financial support in the following months.
- Prize & ongoing support: The first-place team will be awarded €3,000, and the two runner-up teams will receive €1,000 each. Winning teams will also receive continued mentorship to refine and scale their solutions, ensuring a lasting impact.
- Accelerated skill-building workshops: Gain hands-on experience with mentors and learn entrepreneurial skills, design thinking, and sustainable business models to turn your idea into reality.
- Networking: Connect with experts, mentors, and fellow innovators from across the Mediterranean region. Build relationships that will support your growth long after the hackathon ends!
Eligibility
- Open to young innovators aged 18 to 35 who are nationals of UfM Member States.
- Teams of 2-3 members who are ready to brainstorm, innovate, and make an impact.
- No specific professional background is required. To participate, they are looking for motivation, interest in solving challenges within the WEFE Nexus and an entrepreneurial spirit.
Application
- Apply as a team: Submit one application per team by December 1st, 2024.
- Shortlist announcement: Selected teams will be notified in December 2024.
