First Bank Nigeria Limited is gearing up to host its 6th Annual Fintech Summit next week, themed “Banking on Partnerships.” This year’s summit will debut the Fintech Innovators Pitch Programme, an initiative focused on empowering early-stage fintech startups and promoting innovation within Nigeria’s financial services industry. The event will convene global leaders, experts, and innovators to discuss the latest advancements in financial technology. Since its start in 2016, the summit has evolved into a prominent platform for digital innovation, attracting top local and international industry experts. Although it transitioned online in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s event will adopt a hybrid format, enabling participants from around the globe to attend.
A major highlight of the summit will be the introduction of the Fintech Innovators Pitch Programme, specifically tailored to support early-stage fintech startups. Selected startups will participate in rigorous training and mentorship, culminating in the chance to present their innovative solutions to FirstBank, investors, and key industry stakeholders. Winners will receive strategic guidance, resources, and access to an extensive network to help bring their products to market.
This two-day event will feature a range of activities, including keynote addresses, panel discussions, regulatory and investor roundtables, fireside chats, and masterclasses, creating extensive networking opportunities. Olusegun Alebiosu, CEO of FirstBank Group, highlighted the summit’s role in fostering collaboration, stating, “This year’s summit provides a platform to unite industry leaders, innovators, regulators, and thought leaders to explore how collaboration and partnerships can shape the future of financial services and technology. As FirstBank continues to lead in innovation, this event presents a unique opportunity to engage with key stakeholders and deepen our understanding of emerging trends in the fintech landscape.
