IDEA Africa, in partnership with the UK-Nigeria Tech Hub, has announced the opening of applications for the Startups and Talent Enhancement Programme (STEP), which will be accepting submissions until August 31, 2024.
The STEP initiative aims to assist post-revenue startups that have gained market traction but are encountering difficulties in areas such as technical debt, growth hacking, marketing, compliance, and risk management.
The six-month program will specifically target female-led startups, talents, and mentors within Enugu, Ekiti, and Rivers states.
“STEP is designed to do more than just provide resources; it’s about empowering post-revenue startups to tackle their unique challenges and unlock their full potential,” said Ifedy Eze, Executive Director of IDEA Africa.
“We are committed to harnessing the transformative power of innovation and creating a dynamic ecosystem where both startups and talent can flourish,” he added.
The organization explained that the program utilizes a thorough screening process to maintain high quality and effectiveness.
“Startups, mentors, and talent are assessed based on their development potential, experience, and alignment with the program’s goals. Talent fees are split between the startup (40 percent) and STEP (60 percent),” the statement said.
STEP will partner with various hubs and experienced experts to offer impactful mentoring and training sessions for talent. Founders will receive expert guidance on growth hacking, scaling, strategy, and marketing.
