If you’re a Women’s Rights Organization with an urgent need to implement impactful interventions addressing the issues faced by women and girls in Nigeria, contributing to broader gender equality goals, then the Strategic Opportunity Fund is tailored for you.
This fund is designed as a rapid response resource accessible to women’s organizations and their networks, aiming to promote and protect the rights of women and girls. It enables swift responses to rights violations and the ability to seize unexpected opportunities for positive change. The grant empowers Local Women’s Rights Organizations (LWROs) to address women and girls’ rights issues effectively across different locations. Since its inception, 19 organizations, including non-project partners, have benefited from this initiative.
The target audience includes community members, farmers, Akwa Ibom Women Cooperatives, Kano Youths, partners, stakeholders, and women farmers.
Eligibility criteria are stringent, recognizing that winning grants involves a rigorous process spanning proposal development, review, due diligence, and final selection, often taking months or even years. However, the WVL Nigeria project’s Strategic Opportunity Fund streamlines this process, aiming for implementation, reporting, and fund closure within a remarkable seven days.
