The Nigeria-AfroAsia Small and Medium Enterprises Exhibition Summit (NAASMES) 2024 is poised to revolutionize the African SME sector. Scheduled to run from November 19 to 21, 2024, at the Velodrome within the MKO Abiola National Stadium in Abuja, the summit promises to be a landmark event.
Aligned with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope initiative, the summit will focus on empowering export-driven SMEs, particularly those led by women and youth, enabling them to access international markets. The Inter-ministerial Committee overseeing the event revealed that the summit will spotlight opportunities in key industries such as textiles, leather, ICT, agriculture, agro-allied sectors, blue economy, aquaculture, solid minerals, and CNG.
Ahead of the summit, a preparatory visit to Vietnam on September 29, 2024, is expected to open doors to global business opportunities for African SMEs, fostering partnerships that will strengthen cross-border collaboration.
“This summit will open up global markets for African SMEs,” noted the committee, emphasizing the importance of this event in driving innovation, creating networking avenues, and showcasing Africa’s potential in entrepreneurship.
NAASMES 2024 will offer interactive workshops, business competitions, and networking sessions with prominent industry leaders and international representatives, all geared towards positioning African SMEs for global success and advancing economic diversification and development.
