Olugbenga Agboola, the founder and CEO of Flutterwave, has been appointed as the Vice Chair of the United States Chamber of Commerce’s U.S-Africa Business Center (USAfBC). This significant announcement was made in New York City during the U.S-Nigeria Executive Dialogue, garnering praise from President Bola Tinubu and Pepsico, the company chaired by the USAfBC board.
Established in 2009, USAfBC has been a proponent of enhancing trade between the United States and Africa, aiming to strengthen connections with Africa’s regional economic communities, established African private sector, and SMEs from both regions. The organization views the partnership with Agboola and Flutterwave as instrumental in furthering these objectives.
Expressing their enthusiasm, USAfBC highlighted Flutterwave’s pivotal role in Africa’s digital revolution, emphasizing the continent’s significance in the global economic landscape. They look forward to leveraging Flutterwave’s leadership and vision to advance initiatives such as the U.S-Nigeria Business initiative announced at the UNGA.
Agboola, aged 39, assumed his new role immediately, participating in the U.S-Nigeria Executive Business roundtable alongside Olayemi Cardoso, the governor of the CBN, where he delivered the concluding remarks.
