Oriki Energy, a Paris-based social impact startup, has announced its collaboration with the Nigerian federal government to bolster job creation and economic growth at the grassroots level. The company plans to achieve this by establishing a network of profitable solar stations nationwide.
As part of this initiative, Oriki Energy intends to empower 100 entrepreneurs in Abeokuta, Ogun State, between May and August 2024. This partnership with the Olowu of Owu, Prof. Saka Matemilola, reflects Oriki Energy’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurship and driving economic progress in Nigeria.
Seni Oyekanmi, the founder and CEO of Oriki Energy, envisions empowering one million entrepreneurs across Nigeria with solar power businesses by 2034, aligning with the program’s long-term vision.
Funmi Kogbe, a representative of Oriki Energy, emphasized the company’s mission to harness solar energy to unlock entrepreneurial potential nationwide. She highlighted Oriki Energy’s role in enabling entrepreneurs to thrive in profitable ventures, thus improving livelihoods and contributing to economic advancement.
Oriki Energy envisions a future where all Nigerians have access to the energy needed to pursue their aspirations and drive economic development. The company aims to achieve this by promoting entrepreneurship, creating job opportunities, and stimulating economic activity through its solar station network across Africa.
Kogbe also noted Oriki Energy’s ongoing efforts to provide energy to communities across Nigeria through mobile phone charging kiosks, promoting financial independence for Oriki entrepreneurs and their families.
