Application Open: ICANN Fellowship Program 2026

The ICANN Fellowship Program 2026 is now accepting applications for the ICANN88 Community Forum. Designed to boost representation from underrepresented communities in global Internet governance, the program provides fully funded travel assistance, one-on-one mentorship, and specialized training via ICANN Learn. Applicants must be at least 21 years old and have a background or interest in DNS operations, cybersecurity, or Internet policy.

Application Open: ICANN Fellowship Program 2026

The ICANN Fellowship Program is officially open for applications. Designed to strengthen global representation within the multistakeholder model, the program seeks individuals from underserved and underrepresented communities, giving them a voice and active role in the ICANN community.

Selected fellows gain deep insights into ICANN’s operations, work closely with dedicated mentors, and undergo comprehensive training before, during, and after an ICANN Public Meeting. Travel assistance is fully provided to help participants attend the event.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the fellowship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Age: Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Interest/Experience: Active engagement or a demonstrated interest in ICANN’s core areas policy development, Domain Name System (DNS) operations, or global Internet security and stability.
  • Coursework: Complete mandatory ICANN Learn course(s).
  • Travel Programs: Must not be participating in or affiliated with other ICANN-supported travel programs at the time of selection.
  • Prior Fellowships:
  • Applicants may have received a maximum of two previous ICANN fellowships.
  • Second- and third-time applicants must prove ongoing involvement and active contribution to an ICANN community.
  • Note for Policy Forum Applicants: Must have successfully completed a previous ICANN Fellowship.

Fellowship Expectations & Responsibilities

Recipients are expected to fully immerse themselves in the program by completing the following:

  1. Mentorship: Actively participate in the Fellowship Program Mentoring process.
  2. Learning: Complete required ICANN Learn modules prior to and during the fellowship.
  3. Attendance: Attend all designated ICANN Public Meeting activities and mandatory fellowship sessions.
  4. Networking: Connect and collaborate with fellowship alumni and community leaders.
  5. Feedback: Fill out the post-meeting survey to help improve future cohorts.

Following the fellowship, alumni are encouraged to continue contributing to ICANN’s policy development processes and participate in the global alumni network.
