The Union for the Mediterranean is now accepting applications for the 2026 UfM Med Youth Lab, a fully funded introductory skills-building program for young university students and recent graduates aged 18 to 29. Designed specifically for complete beginners in entrepreneurship, this opportunity provides foundational training to help young leaders bring innovative ideas into their local communities.
This third edition features a hybrid learning structure, starting with online training modules from October to December 2026 and culminating in hands-on, in-person workshops from December 14–16, 2026, in Palermo, Italy. Up to 30 participants will gain essential skills in innovation, financial literacy, problem-solving, and communication. Following a Training of Trainers model, delegates will also learn how to lead peer-based awareness sessions back home in 2027.
Eligibility Criteria
To apply, candidates must meet all of the following requirements:
- Age 18 to 29 at the time of application.
- National and resident of a UfM Member State.
- Currently enrolled in university or graduated no more than one year prior to the deadline.
- Minimum B2 English proficiency to participate actively in group discussions.
- Valid travel documents (passport) and full availability for all program dates.
- No prior background: Applicants with significant entrepreneurship training, startup experience, or incubator involvement are not eligible.
Program Benefits & Financial Support
The program is completely free of charge. Full coverage for travel, visa, and accommodation expenses for the Palermo workshops is provided to eligible nationals from Albania, Algeria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Montenegro, Morocco, North Macedonia, Palestine, Syria, Tunisia, and Türkiye.
