To support local packaging needs and enhance national food security in Nigeria, BlackHorse Holding Company Limited has unveiled two major industrial developments in Danzaki, Kano State: a 400-metric-ton (MT) daily capacity rice processing mill under Crescent Rice Limited, and a 240-ton monthly sack production facility operating as Aminchi Bags Limited. A dedicated 3-megawatt (MW) sustainable, off-grid power plant powers both operations to ensure continuous, uninterrupted manufacturing.
While this launch marks a massive entry into agro-processing, BlackHorse first built its reputation in logistics and haulage through subsidiaries like Dangwauro Container Terminal. Over the years, the group has managed supply chain solutions for leading global and domestic partners, including Maersk, CMA CGM, Hapag-Lloyd, PIL Shipping, Ammasco International, Mamuda Industries, Ilera Group, and the Kaduna Refinery.
Addressing attendees at the launch event, Rahul Bakliwal, Managing Director of Crescent Rice Limited, highlighted how the facility reached its current milestone. Operations initially began in 2024 at an 80 MT daily output, expanded with two new production lines in 2025 to hit 240 MT daily, and have now reached the final target capacity of 400 MT per day. Bakliwal also noted that three Crescent Rice products earned the ARSO Dual Mark of Quality from the African Organisation for Standardisation (via the Standards Organisation of Nigeria), certifying full adherence to the NIS ARSO 464:2017 standard.

Looking toward the future, BlackHorse Holding Limited Chairman and CEO Muhammad Sani Utai reflected on how an ambitious vision from three years ago has matured into a major manufacturing hub. He outlined plans to push daily rice output beyond 500 MT while diversifying into edible oil processing, specifically groundnut and sorghum oil alongside their ongoing sack manufacturing operations.
