Carnegie Mellon University Africa has launched applications for its 2026/2027 Innovation Hub Business Incubation Programme targeted at early-stage African tech startups.
The programme is designed to support founders building innovative technology-driven solutions with strong market potential across Africa. Selected startups will receive funding, mentorship, business support, and access to a global entrepreneurship ecosystem.
The incubation programme aims to help startups refine their products, strengthen operations, and improve investor readiness over 12 months.
Programme Benefits
Selected startups will receive:
- Up to $50,000 USD in seed funding
- 12 months of incubation and advisory support
- Product development and market research assistance
- Legal, accounting, finance, marketing, and sales support
- $5,000 AWS credits
- $1,500 Amazon technical support services
- Access to investors and venture capital networks
- Networking opportunities within the CMU-Africa ecosystem
- Workspace support at Kigali Innovation City
- Access to Carnegie Mellon University’s mentorship network
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the programme, startups must:

- Have at least two committed co-founders working full-time on the startup
