Applications for the 2026/2027 academic session officially open on August 4, 2026, and close on October 6, 2026.
The Chevening Scholarship supports fully funded, one-year Master’s degree programs at any university across the UK, targeting individuals with demonstrable leadership qualities, strong academic backgrounds, and a commitment to driving positive change in Nigeria.
What the Scholarship Covers
- Tuition: 100% full tuition coverage.
- Living Expenses: A monthly stipend for accommodation and living costs.
- Travel: Round-trip economy flights between Nigeria and the UK.
- Additional Allowances: Coverage for visa application fees, arrival allowance, and departure allowance.

- Be a Nigerian citizen and agree to return to Nigeria for at least two years after completing their degree.
- Hold an undergraduate degree equivalent to an upper second-class (2:1) honors degree in the UK.
- Have at least 2,800 hours (approximately two years) of demonstrable work experience (full-time, part-time, or voluntary).
- Apply to three eligible UK Master’s courses and receive an unconditional offer from at least one by July 2027.

- Pass the online eligibility checker to receive a unique portal ID.
- Complete all required fields, including educational history, work experience, and course selections.
- Upload two professional or academic reference details.
- Write and submit four short essays focusing on Leadership & Influence, Networking, Studying in the UK, and Career Plan.
- Submit the online application before October 6, 2026.
