This year’s theme, “Waves of Change,” focuses on oceans, waterways, and the urgent need for environmental sustainability. Organisers are inviting participants to submit compelling images that highlight both the beauty of marine ecosystems and the environmental challenges threatening them.
The competition aims to encourage young people to use visual storytelling to inspire action, promote conservation, and spark global conversations around climate issues.

The Commonwealth Youth Photography Competition provides emerging photographers with an international platform to share meaningful stories through images.
Participants are encouraged to capture photographs that reflect:

Eligibility Requirements

- Be between 18 and 30 years old
- Submit an original photograph
- Ensure the image has not been previously published or entered into another competition
Applicants who clearly align their images with the selected category may have a stronger chance during evaluation.

- Create one original photograph based on any of the competition categories
- Complete the official online application form
- Submit a short explanation of no more than 300 words describing the meaning of the image and its connection to the chosen category
