The Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD) is now accepting applications for the 2027/2028 EPOS Scholarships. This highly competitive funding program is specifically tied to the MSc Environmental Governance (MEG) program.
Candidates must successfully clear a two-step selection process: first by the MEG program committee, followed by a final eligibility check and decision by the DAAD.
Key Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for this scholarship, applicants from developing countries (https://static.daad.de/media/daad_de/pdfs_nicht_barrierefrei/in-deutschland-studieren-forschen-lehren/dac_laenderliste_epos.pdf) must strictly meet all of the following criteria:
- Academic Degree: Must hold a degree with an above-average grade (positioned in the upper third of your class). The degree must not be older than six years at the time of application (October 2026).
- Professional Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant post-Bachelor professional experience by the application deadline.
- Exclusions: Internships, voluntary work, and standard academic employment (teaching/research at a university) are not accepted as valid work experience except in extraordinary circumstances.
- Residency Restriction: Applicants must not have resided in Germany for more than 15 months prior to the application date.
- Master’s Degree Holders: If you already hold a Master's degree, you must provide a highly compelling, well-argued justification explaining why you require funding for a second postgraduate degree.
How to Apply
The application processes for both the MEG academic program and the DAAD scholarship are fully integrated.
