The Ekiti State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to youth empowerment through the disbursement of N29 million to youth groups, student unions, and community-based organisations operating across all 16 local government areas of the state. The intervention was announced in Ado Ekiti by Governor Biodun Oyebanji as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen youth inclusion in economic and social development.
Speaking on the initiative, Gold Adesola explained that the funds were distributed through the Ministry of Youth Development to registered youth and community organisations. He noted that the programme is designed to promote leadership development, entrepreneurship, and active civic participation among young people while ensuring they are productively engaged.
The government stated that the financial support will enable beneficiary organisations to implement programmes that focus on entrepreneurship, leadership training, skills development, and community-based projects aimed at improving social impact and economic participation. It added that strengthening youth organisations remains a key strategy for grassroots development and long-term economic growth in the state.

Authorities further emphasized that the subvention is strictly intended to support organisational activities and deliver measurable impact within communities. Beneficiaries were urged to ensure transparency and accountability in the use of the funds, noting that proper implementation is essential to achieving the goals of the intervention.
The state government also reiterated that youth development remains central to its governance agenda, stressing that continued investment in young people is critical to reducing unemployment, encouraging innovation, and promoting sustainable development across Ekiti State.
