FAO Green Cities Network 2026

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) has officially opened applications for cities, municipal leaders, and urban organizations worldwide to join the FAO Green Cities Network.

With over 300 cities already participating, this global movement is rapidly expanding to support 1,000 cities by 2030 in developing field-tested, eco-friendly urban solutions.

The network drives real local impact across key sustainability pillars:

  • Urban & Peri-Urban Forestry: Expanding green cover and managing urban trees.
