The Federal Government of Nigeria has officially resumed the disbursement of its Presidential Conditional Grant Scheme (PCGS), delivering a one-off financial boost of ₦50,000 to nano business owners across the country.
First introduced in December 2023 under the umbrella of the Presidential Palliative Programme, the initiative aims to reach one million micro and nano businesses across all 774 Local Government Areas (LGAs). The direct cash injections are intended to bolster daily working capital, improve liquidity, and cushion vulnerable business owners against prevailing macroeconomic challenges.
To ensure equitable distribution, federal authorities partnered with key stakeholders to identify and shortlist candidates. Collaborating entities include state governments, the Nigerian Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (NASME), federal ministers, senators, and members of the House of Representatives. Beneficiaries were selected following a rigorous verification process using standardized government criteria.
