The Federal Ministry of Works has announced the opening of applications for the President Tinubu Engineering Mentorship Program 2026. Designed to support the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda, this national initiative provides structured practical training, field experience, and professional development to help bridge technical skill gaps across Nigeria's 774 Local Government Areas.

Participants will work alongside registered engineers and certified project leaders on active federal infrastructure construction sites.

Eligibility Requirements

1. Graduate Engineers

Note: The Ministry has issued a final extension notice indicating that the Graduate Engineer quota is currently undergoing shortlisting. However, general criteria previously established include:

  • Citizenship & Age: Nigerian citizen aged 18–35 years.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc./B.Eng.) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
  • Employment Status: Currently unemployed and not engaged in full-time public service.
  • NYSC: Official NYSC Discharge Certificate, Exemption, or Exclusion Letter.
  • Skills: Basic digital literacy (familiarity with engineering design software is an advantage).

2. Skilled Artisans (Current Focus)

  • Citizenship & Age: Nigerian citizen aged 18–45 years.
  • Experience: Recognized vocational training, Trade Test Certificate, or verifiable practical trade experience (e.g., masonry, carpentry, welding, electrical installation).
  • Employment Status: Unemployed at the time of application.
  • Fitness: Physically fit for active construction environment requirements.

For Skilled Artisans

  • Updated Curriculum Vitae (CV) or a summary of practical trade experience.
  • Trade Test Certificate or verifiable proof of prior field work.
  • Passport photograph.
  • Valid government-issued ID (NIN, Voter's Card, Driver's License, or International Passport).
  • Certificate of Origin (LGA).

For Graduate Engineers

  • Academic degree or diploma certificates.
