The Lagos State Government has disbursed over ₦15 billion to more than 10,000 Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) as part of an ongoing effort to strengthen the state’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and spur economic growth.
Speaking on Thursday at the unveiling of the three-day "Lagos on Display" Access to Market Fair held at JJT Park in Alausa, Ikeja the Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, Akinyemi Ajigbotafe, reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to providing a business-friendly environment for local entrepreneurs. Represented by the Director of Employment, Mr. Shitta Demilola, the commissioner highlighted that the funding provided through the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF) demonstrates the government's sustained investment in building sustainable businesses and expanding economic opportunities.

Organized by the LSETF under the Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment, the event brought together roughly 300 local entrepreneurs, offering on-the-spot loan application processing, immediate enrollment into the Lagos State Health Insurance Scheme (Ilera Eko), and product exhibitions with discounted sales to promote locally made goods. Executive Director of the LSETF, Mrs. Feyisara Alayande (represented by Director of Programmes Ms. Oyindamola Egbeyemi), emphasized that financial support alone is not enough, noting that the fair serves as a market stimulation initiative to ensure small businesses can scale beyond the state. Backing this vision, the Clerk of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mrs. Adenike Oshinowo, confirmed that the legislature remains dedicated to supporting policies that reward innovation and foster enterprise growth across Lagos.
