MANEG Launches 2026/2027 Strategic Roadmap to Boost SME Export Access

The Manufacturers Association of Nigeria Export Promotion Group (MANEG) has unveiled its 2026/2027 strategic roadmap, aimed at helping local manufacturers, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) , access government export incentives that frequently go underutilized. According to the group, many businesses miss out on state-backed support simply due to a lack of awareness surrounding eligibility requirements and application procedures. MANEG plans to bridge this gap through targeted industry engagements, practical guidance, and knowledge-sharing workshops designed to translate government policy into real business value.

Under the leadership of newly appointed Chairman Ruth Owojaiye, MANEG’s two-year strategy is built around four core pillars: raising incentive awareness, deepening strategic engagements with government and trade bodies, expanding access to export finance, and building export capacity. Addressing funding challenges is a primary focus, as manufacturers require access to capital to expand production, upgrade technology, secure international certifications, improve packaging, and navigate global supply chains. Additionally, capacity development initiatives will focus on equipping local producers with the skills needed to comply with international quality standards and successfully navigate foreign markets.

Highlighting Nigeria’s vast industrial capacity and entrepreneurial drive, Owojaiye emphasized that local manufacturers must continually innovate and elevate product quality to compete internationally. She identified the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) as a major growth opportunity, giving Nigerian businesses access to a market of over one billion consumers. To capitalize on this, MANEG reaffirmed its commitment to collaborating with government institutions, development partners, and private sector leaders to strengthen the national export ecosystem, expand non-oil exports, and bolster the global presence of Made-in-Nigeria goods.
