The New Africa Fund (NAF) has officially launched the application call for its 2026 Africa Fundraising Incubator (AFI). Formerly known as the Africa Impact Fundraising Grant (AIFG), this multi-stage capacity-building initiative aims to help African organizations establish reliable fundraising systems while strengthening their internal institutional structures.
The program is open to eligible organizations legally registered across any of the 54 African Union member states.
Program Benefits and Offerings
The AFI 2026 program is structured to provide selected organizations with a mix of digital training, financial incentives, and long-term support:
- Targeted Online Training: Participants will gain access to specialized virtual workshops focusing on the fundamental strategies needed to build successful grassroots and small-donor fundraising campaigns.
- $5,000 Matching Funds Challenge: During a live 30-day fundraising campaign challenge, the New Africa Fund will match funds raised by participating organizations up to $5,000.
- Free Fiscal Sponsorship: Selected organizations will receive 12 months of complimentary fiscal sponsorship from the New Africa Fund, with potential options for extension.
- Exclusive Kigali Boot Camp: The highest-performing organizations will be invited to an all-expenses-paid, week-long intensive residency in Kigali, Rwanda. This boot camp will cover advanced training in financial management, marketing, grant writing, donor cultivation, and localized fundraising strategies.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the incubator, applying organizations must be registered in an African Union member state and provide the following documentation:
- Official organizational registration documents.
- The most recent external financial audit. (Organizations lacking an external audit may alternatively submit five months of comprehensive bank/financial statements for all active accounts).
Important Security Note: The New Africa Fund does not charge any application fees for its programs. Applicants are urged to remain cautious of fraudulent individuals requesting payments or administrative fees.
