Nigerian Teachers Community Launches Digital Initiative for Online Income

The Nigerian Teachers Community has launched a new digital empowerment initiative aimed at helping teachers generate income online and adapt to the growing digital education economy.

Unveiled in Lagos, the programme is designed to equip educators with tools to host virtual classes, sell digital learning materials, and offer academic services to students locally and internationally.

According to founder Peter Ogudoro, the platform was developed in partnership with technology stakeholders, including Hallos, to help teachers monetise their expertise beyond traditional classrooms.

He explained that many educators have valuable skills but lack access to digital platforms that can help them earn from their knowledge. The initiative also seeks to reposition teachers as digital creators and education entrepreneurs.

The programme is part of broader efforts to improve education quality while creating new income opportunities in Nigeria’s education sector. Plans are also underway to launch the African Schools Enhancement Training programme to support schools across Africa.

Hallos co-founder Alexander Oseji described the initiative as a step toward improving digital inclusion and strengthening education-focused innovation in Nigeria.
