With climate impacts intensifying worldwide, bridging the gap between scientific evidence and political action has never been more urgent. To support non-partisan initiatives working at the intersection of democratic leadership and climate resilience, a global funder coalition including the Better Politics Foundation, European Climate Foundation, Naia Trust, and Vibe Fund has launched the Resilient Futures Call 2026.
Featuring a total funding pool of USD $700,000, the initiative offers financial support and technical assistance to individuals, organizations, networks, and collectives across priority regions in Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, and the Pacific.
Grant Streams and Funding Amounts
The Resilient Futures Call features two distinct funding streams tailored to different stages of project maturity:
- Ideation Grants (USD $10,000 – $20,000): Open via direct application for early-stage ideas, new concepts, or pilot projects (organizations under 12 months old or new pilots from established entities).
- Incubation Grants (Up to USD $50,000): Awarded by nomination only for established initiatives with proven track records that are ready to scale their regional or global impact.
Key Funding Focus Areas
Proposals must align with at least one of the program’s three core focus areas:
- Pathways (Evidence-Based Governance): Connecting climate scientists, community leaders, and advocates with policy-makers so local knowledge and scientific evidence directly shape public policy across all government levels.
- Leadership (Integrity and Skill Building): Integrating climate perspectives into political leadership programs. This includes building skills in ethical communication, policy design, strategic coalition-building, and creating pathways for underrepresented leaders.
- Cross-Sector Leadership (Systemic Solutions): Supporting leadership across key sectors impacted by climate change;including energy, housing, transport, food systems, health, security, and conservation while reforming political institutions to help new ideas succeed.
Eligibility and Partisan Restrictions
To qualify for an Ideation Grant, applicants must meet the following criteria:

- Structure: Open to individuals, non-profit organizations, networks, and collectives.
- Stage: Restricted to new or early-stage initiatives.
- Strict Non-Partisan Requirement: The program does not fund political parties, political candidates, election campaigns, partisan political initiatives, or corporate sustainability projects.

Applications will be evaluated based on:
- Innovation: Introducing new methods, ideas, or audiences.
- Impact Potential: Scale and significance of achievable outcomes.
- Strategic Clarity: A convincing, logical connection between planned activities and intended results.
- Financial Clarity: A well-reasoned, realistic budget.
- Regional Fit: Alignment with local political, institutional, and regional climate priorities.
- Leadership: Demonstrated background, local connection, and dedication to the cause.
