Applications are officially open for the Africa Fact-Checking Fellowship Cameroon (#AFFCameroon), a flagship program organized jointly by r0g_agency and Civic Watch to empower a new generation of information integrity defenders across Cameroon. Operating under the broader project “Protecting Civic Space Online and Offline: Countering Hate, Discrimination and Media Repression,” this fellowship aims to train a dedicated network of fact-checkers to safeguard truth, defend democratic space, and counter rising threats such as foreign information manipulation, hate speech, and AI-driven disinformation.
Key Objectives
- Train & Deploy: Equip fellows with practical tools to detect, verify, and counter harmful information both online and offline.
- Counter Foreign Influence: Strengthen local capacity to respond to Foreign Information Manipulation and Interference (FIMI) and coordinated influence operations.
- Promote Information Integrity: Encourage evidence-based verification and ethical, responsible communication.
- Strengthen Preparedness: Build resilience against election-related disinformation and AI-enabled media manipulation.
- Establish a Sustainable Network: Create a trusted, community-based network of fact-checkers across the country.

The program is highly competitive and open to residents of the Northwest, West, Southwest, Littoral, or Centre regions of Cameroon.
