The Global Youth Water Envoys Program 2026: Call for Applications

The 2026 Global Youth Water Envoys Program is a diplomatic capacity-building initiative ahead of December's UN Water Conference in Abu Dhabi. Organised by the Arab Youth Center and the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it will select 100 global youth leaders (ages 18–35) to directly shape international water policy. Envoys commit 3-4 hours weekly to training and contributing to policy tracks. Benefits include full sponsorship to the conference, mentorship, and global networking.

The Global Youth Water Envoys Program 2026: Call for Applications

Applications are now open for the 2026 Global Youth Water Envoys Program, a premier capacity-building and diplomatic initiative. Established ahead of the 2026 UN Water Conference co-hosted by the UAE and Senegal in Abu Dhabi this December the program is fully endorsed by the Conference Presidencies.

The initiative will select 100 young leaders globally to actively shape international water policy, moving them from mere observers to direct contributors across the conference proceedings and its six Interactive Dialogues.

Program Expectations

Selected envoys must commit to the following responsibilities:

  • Active Participation: Complete the full program journey, dedicating approximately 3–4 hours per week to program activities.
  • Track Contribution: Actively engage and support one of the six assigned Interactive Dialogue tracks.
  • Diplomatic Engagement: Represent global youth perspectives when collaborating with national delegations, policymakers, and institutional stakeholders.
  • Conference Attendance: Participate in key program milestones, including the 2026 UN Water Conference (subject to logistical arrangements).

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered:

  • Age: Between 18 and 35 years old at the time of the 2026 UN Water Conference.
  • Language: Fully proficient in English (the primary working language of the program).
  • Background: Possess a strong interest or relevant experience in water governance, climate action, public policy, sustainability, innovation, or finance.
  • Commitment: Fully dedicated to the program's duration and to championing youth perspectives locally and globally.
