The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) has officially opened nominations for the 2026 TWAS-Abdool Karim Award in Biological Sciences. The award recognises exceptional women scientists from Least Developed African countries who are making significant contributions to the field of Biological Sciences.

Named after renowned scientist and TWAS President Professor Quarraisha Abdool Karim, the award aims to celebrate scientific excellence while encouraging more women to pursue impactful research and innovation across Africa.
