WomenLift Health Eastern Africa Leadership Journey 2027

The WomenLift Health Eastern Africa Leadership Journey 2027 applications are now officially open! This fully-funded, 12-month program supports mid-career women leaders in health across East Africa. Running from March 2027 to February 2028, it covers all travel and lodging expenses for two mandatory in-person residencies, alongside virtual coaching and project work.

WomenLift Health Eastern Africa Leadership Journey 2027

Applications are officially open for the WomenLift Health Eastern Africa Leadership Journey 2027. This fully-funded, 12-month program is tailored for talented women leaders in global health, offering a safe and supportive environment to hone authentic leadership, expand influence, and drive systemic change.

What the Program Offers

Participants benefit from a holistic mix of experiential learning and personalized mentorship, including:

  • In-Person Residencies: Two mandatory 3-day experiential residencies (Immersion and Lift-Off).
  • Virtual Learning: Regular virtual touchpoints, group mentoring sessions, and one-on-one executive coaching.
  • Health Leadership Project: A self-directed project addressing real-world health challenges.
  • Peer Community: Access to an inclusive network of peers, mentors, and global health leaders.

Cost: The program is completely free. All costs including program fees, air travel, and lodging are fully covered.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the cohort, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Gender: Identify as a woman.
  • Experience: Be a mid-career professional with 10 to 25 years of experience in health (including related fields like climate change, agriculture, nutrition, water/sanitation, education, gender equity, and health tech).
  • Residency & Citizenship: Be a citizen residing and working in Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, South Sudan, or Burundi.
  • Time Zone Alignment: Live within the East Africa Time zone for at least 75% of the program.
  • Language Proficiency: Demonstrate fluency and confidence in spoken and written English.
