The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement for the Northeast, Abdulhamid Yahaya Abba, has provided support to over 200 entrepreneurs in the region by distributing Tiger generators. This initiative focuses on aiding local barbers who face challenges due to unreliable electricity, which hinders the smooth operation of their businesses.
According to a statement released by the Director of Media and Information, Umar Khaleepha, the donation is part of the government’s broader strategy to assist small businesses in the Northeast. The initiative aligns with ongoing efforts to strengthen the local economy by addressing the needs of entrepreneurs.
“Small businesses form the backbone of our local economies,” said Abba. “We are dedicated to providing entrepreneurs with the tools they need to overcome obstacles like power shortages. This is one of the steps we are taking to ensure local businesses can better serve their communities.”
Khaleepha, who represented Abba during the distribution event, underscored the importance of entrepreneurship in driving the Northeast’s economic development. He pointed out that this initiative is part of a larger plan to support business owners, particularly those with limited access to essential resources.
Beyond this support for barbers, Abba has also empowered 500 women and youths in Gombe State in previous efforts to alleviate poverty and foster economic resilience in the region. This initiative continues the government’s commitment to improving the livelihoods of small business owners and promoting economic stability.
