At the National MSME Conference Award 2024 in Abuja, the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) awarded ₦10 million to the top three winners of the eagerly awaited #SMEDANPitchCompetition. The event highlighted the innovation, determination, and potential of Nigeria’s small businesses.
Loom Chocolate claimed the grand prize of ₦5 million, winning over the judges with its dedication to enhancing Nigeria’s cocoa industry by creating premium, locally-produced chocolate. This victory underscores the brand’s goal of uplifting the country’s chocolate market.
Negs Honey, renowned for producing pure organic honey and empowering women in rural areas, earned the first runner-up spot with a prize of ₦3 million. The company has made significant progress in promoting sustainable agriculture while supporting local economies.
Datestores, which focuses on providing healthier sweetener alternatives by using dates instead of sugar, secured the second runner-up position and was awarded ₦2 million, establishing itself as a healthier choice for Nigerian consumers.
All finalists received financial rewards in recognition of their creativity and entrepreneurial achievements.
SMEDAN expressed special thanks to ProvidusBank and the 7.15 Foundation, whose sponsorship ensured the event’s success and emphasized their commitment to supporting small business owners.
