STL Trustees has disbursed N3 million in grants to 30 women-led businesses through its newly introduced STL FundHer initiative, reaffirming its dedication to supporting female entrepreneurs in Nigeria.
Unveiled in commemoration of International Women’s Day, the initiative awarded N100,000 to each selected entrepreneur over the weekend to help them scale and strengthen their businesses.
During the award ceremony, Adesola Aje, Head of Trust Services at STL Trustees, underscored the program’s importance in driving business growth for women. She noted that the selection process was highly competitive due to the overwhelming number of applications, with key criteria focusing on impact, innovation, and resilience rather than the size of the business.
STL Trustees’ Managing Director, Funmi Ekundayo, lauded the beneficiaries for their hard work and perseverance amid economic uncertainties. She urged them to make the most of the grant by fostering meaningful connections and gaining valuable insights from one another. Ekundayo emphasized that STL FundHer goes beyond financial assistance—it aims to cultivate a robust network of women entrepreneurs.
One of the grant recipients, Rebecca Aremu of Becblaq Atelier, expressed deep appreciation for the support, noting that the funding would contribute to the growth of her business, while the knowledge shared at the event would guide her strategic decisions.
The STL FundHer initiative is a key component of STL Trustees’ broader corporate social responsibility efforts, focused on promoting financial independence and business sustainability for women. The organization intends to expand the initiative in subsequent editions to reach even more female entrepreneurs across Nigeria.
