The Regional Off Grid Electricity Project (ROGEAP) has officially launched the second call for start-ups and existing businesses in the solar PV industry in Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Cote d’Ivoire, Chad, Gambia, Ghana, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria and Sierra Leone today June 4, 2024
ROGEAP is co-funded by the World Bank, the Clean Technology Fund (CTF) and the Directorate General for International Cooperation (DGIS) of the Netherlands. The project specifically aims to improve access to sustainable energy by building a regional market for off-grid solar (OGS) products and supporting value chain stakeholders. The project also aims to increase access to sustainable electricity services in the fifteen ECOWAS member countries, Cameroon, Chad, Mauritania, and Central African Republic as well as to promote environmental, social and gender risk management for the OGS products.
ROGEAP is offering grants through 3 windows, the Matching grant for startups who may access between 10,000- 25,000 USD, Market entry grants for existing businesses looking to scale up with the opportunity to access between 50,000-150,000 USD and its Performance based grant for overcoming challenging markets which offers businesses the opportunity to access between 150,000 -250,000 USD.
ROGEAP is looking for innovative and passionate entrepreneurs in the solar PV industry who are committed to providing clean and affordable energy solutions to communities in eligible countries. We encourage all eligible businesses to apply and join us in our mission to expand access to electricity. Start-ups and existing businesses within the the solar PV industry in the listed eligible countries are encouraged to apply for the second call for applications. The deadline for submission of applications is 23rd June 2024.
