Wema Bank has distributed N11 million to 131 women across Nigeria in the latest edition of its 5 for 5 Promo, commemorating Women’s Month. The draw, held in Aba, featured winners from various regions across the country.
The 5 for 5 Promo, launched in 2021, is Wema Bank’s initiative to appreciate and reward customer loyalty. Over three seasons, the bank has disbursed more than N150 million to 2,378 Nigerians spanning all six geopolitical zones. Since the latest season commenced in October 2024, over N50 million has been awarded through daily, weekly, and monthly draws.
For the March edition, which marked the fifth monthly draw, Wema Bank allocated the entire N11 million cash prize exclusively to women. Among the top beneficiaries were Ogechukwu Ani from Aba, Vanessa Ogbonna from Lagos, and Mubarakaht Alowonle from Bodija, each receiving N1 million. Additionally, eight domiciliary account holders won N250,000 each, 40 women were awarded N100,000 each, and 80 winners received N25,000 each.
Moruf Oseni, Wema Bank’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, reiterated the institution’s dedication to empowering women and fostering financial inclusion. He underscored the bank’s commitment to bridging gender gaps through specialized initiatives such as “SARA by Wema.”
“We have leveraged the 5 for 5 Promo as another avenue to support women during Women’s Month,” Oseni stated. “Our focus is on creating impact, and we take great pride in bringing joy to Nigerian women nationwide.”
Beyond the promo, Wema Bank also marked International Women’s Day with a special event aimed at reinforcing its dedication to advancing women in business and promoting financial independence.
