Application Deadline: 3rd October, 2024.
The ECOWAS Women and Clean Energy Scholarship is a powerful initiative designed to help achieve the goals of the ECOWAS Policy for Gender Mainstreaming in Energy Access.
With funding of CAD 1.5 million from the International Development Research Centre (IDRC), Canada, the ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE) is leading a project called Women and Clean Energy in West Africa (WOCEWA).
This project is specifically focused on promoting gender equality in the private energy sector by increasing women’s participation as both consumers and suppliers of clean energy.
The WOCEWA Scholarship and Green Jobs Program is a vital part of this effort, aiming to create a strong future for women in the energy sector.
By offering scholarships paired with guaranteed internship placements in ECOWAS energy institutions and agencies, ECREEE is working to tackle the low representation of women in this critical industry.
As a WOCEWA scholar, you’ll receive full coverage for your tuition fees, health insurance, and even a laptop. Plus, you’ll get the chance to gain real-world experience through a fully funded internship, which includes travel expenses, insurance, and a monthly stipend.
